Then again, HPL laminates are an option for those who want to evoke the wooden effect but need their product to be easily cleanable and highly resistant to wear and tear.

Contour Baffles are timber fins that hang from the ceiling to create a sculptural, wave-like effect. In addition to aesthetics, they offer strong acoustic benefits, helping reduce echo and soften sound. This creative module is a favourite with designers seeking an alternative to flat ceilings.
Yes. Contour Baffles are designed to significantly reduce noise and echo by breaking up sound reflections. When paired with acoustic backing panels or overhead insulation, the system can achieve NRC ratings up to 0.95, absorbing most reflected sound. This makes them ideal for lobbies, atriums, offices, hospitality spaces, or any environment where improved clarity and reduced reverberation are important, while still delivering a beautifully textured ceiling feature.
They are. Contour Baffles are built from fire-retardant materials and achieve a Group 1S rating, the highest possible fire classification for interior linings in New Zealand. This makes them suitable for commercial, public, and high-occupancy areas where strict fire performance is required. You can specify Contour Baffles confidently, knowing the ceiling design meets compliance and safety requirements.
Contour Baffles offer extensive design flexibility. You can choose from four standard profiles - Flat, Taper, Curve, and Inverted Curve - to create anything from subtle rhythms to dramatic wave patterns. Modules are typically 1200 mm long, with fin widths of roughly 50, 100, or 150mm and depths from 200 to 500 mm. Designers can mix profiles, adjust spacing, or create custom layouts, giving complete creative control over the final ceiling aesthetic.
Contour Baffles clip into an aluminium rail system mounted to the ceiling. Installers fix lightweight rails with preset clip points, then lift each baffle into place where it locks securely using a male–female connection. With all hardware concealed, the finished ceiling appears seamless and refined.
You can choose natural timber veneers with stains from light blondes to rich walnuts, showcasing the grain while maintaining fire performance. All finishing is done in-house for consistency and quality, ensuring each baffle arrives ready to install with a beautifully refined surface.
