Policy Statement for Implementing FSC® (FSC-C166927) Core Labour Requirements – New Zealand
Featurecraft Limited is committed to complying with the FSC® core labour standards as published in the FSC-STD-40-004. A significant portion of the FSC® standard is already specified by New Zealand law under the Employment Relations Act, 2000. As citizens and employers, we are committed to these laws.
The core labour standards, as declared by FSC®, form not only the basis of our work from a legal point of view but also a moral and ethical point of view. They represent the minimum requirements for a healthy and functional work environment.
1. Featurecraft Limited shall not use child labour.
1.1. Featurecraft Limited shall not employ workers below the age of 15, or below the minimum age as stated under national, or local laws or regulations.
1.2. No person under the age of 18 is employed in hazardous or heavy work except for the purpose of training within approved national laws and regulations.
1.3. Featurecraft Limited shall prohibit the worst forms of child labour.
2. Featurecraft Limited shall eliminate all forms of forced and compulsory labour.
2.1. Employment relationships are voluntary and based on mutual consent, without the threat of a penalty.
2.2. Featurecraft Limited shall ensure that there is no discrimination in employment and occupation.
2.3. Employment and occupation practices are non-discriminatory.
3. Featurecraft Limited recognises workers’ rights to freedom of association and to the effective right to collective bargaining.
3.1. Workers are free to establish or join lawful worker organisations of their own choosing, without interference or retaliation from management.
3.2. Featurecraft Limited does not restrict workers’ organisations in developing their own constitutions and rules, in accordance with applicable law.
3.3. The organisation ensures that no worker is discriminated against or disadvantaged for engaging in, or choosing not to engage in, lawful activities related to worker representation.
3.4. Where collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) exist or are established, Featurecraft Limited implements the applicable terms and maintains open communication with employee representatives.
We at Featurecraft Limited put forth a commitment to cooperate according to this policy and our senior management are strongly committed and have endorsed this policy. This policy shall be reviewed annually and be made available to stakeholders, Featurecraft Limited workers, FSC® accredited certification body and other interested parties as deemed appropriate.

Featurecraft Ltd is committed to implement and maintain a chain of custody in accordance with the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification requirements of the PEFC ST 2002:2020
PEFC is one of the world’s leading forest certification organisations. Through independent third-party certification and labelling of forest-based products PEFC promotes sustainable forest management. PEFC is an international non-profit, non-government organisation, an umbrella organisation. PEFC endorses national forest certification schemes that are tailored to local priorities and conditions, but all comply with the PEFC Council requirements.
Hereby we state that Featurecraft Ltd chooses and agrees to work to national standards of PEFC to advance responsible forestry. We will carry out the chain of custody using the physical separation method. As a user of this standard, the usage of claims and related labels will be a result of the implementation of the chain of custody.
We will implement this chain of custody for the purposes of third-party conformity assessment, an assessment on this standardbased on PEFC Council or PEFC endorsed certification requirements.
Featurecraft Ltd is committed to comply with the health, safety and labour requirements defined in the standard. Demonstrating that
a. Workers are not prevented from associating freely choosing their representatives, and bargaining collectively with their employer.
b. Forced labour is not used.
c. Workers, who are under the minimum legal age, the age of 15, or the compulsory school attendance age, whichever is higher, are not used.
d. Workers are not denied equal employment opportunities and treatment.
e. Working conditions do not endanger safety or health.
8.2.1 General responsibilities
8.2.1.1 The organisation’s management shall define and document its commitment to implement and maintain the chain of custody requirements in accordance with this standard. The organisation’s commitment shall be made available to the organisation’s personnel, suppliers, customers, and other interested parties.
